1. Who We Are

4Players (4players.ro) is a sports community platform that connects players, organises events and builds teams. The data controller is 4Players, reachable at [email protected].

2. What Data We Collect

• Account data — name, email address, profile picture, city, country, date of birth.
• Player profile — game preferences, position, skill ratings.
• Event data — events you create, join or moderate.
• Device data — push notification subscription tokens (endpoint, encryption keys).
• Usage data — pages visited, features used (only if you consent to analytics cookies).
• Location data — with your permission, your approximate device location, used to pre-fill your city when you search for players, arenas or events. We use it only at that moment and do not continuously track or store precise GPS coordinates.
• Reputation data — the behavioural ratings you give to or receive from other members, and the reputation score derived from them.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalise the 4Players service.
• To send push notifications about events you participate in (only if you opt in).
• To display your public profile to other players on the platform.
• To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics (only if you consent).
• To determine your approximate city from your device location, only when you ask us to (e.g. tapping "use my location").
• To calculate a behavioural reputation score from peer ratings that helps keep the community safe and may influence invite suggestions and rating eligibility (see Automated Decisions & Profiling).

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

• Contract — providing the service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interest — security, fraud prevention, platform integrity.
• Consent — analytics cookies, push notifications and use of your device location (freely given and easily withdrawn).

5. Automated Decisions & Profiling

We calculate a behavioural reputation score automatically from the ratings members give each other. This score can trigger automated effects — appearing less prominently in invite suggestions, notifying an event organiser when you join, or temporarily removing your ability to rate others. These measures exist to protect the community and are not used to make legally significant decisions about you. You can always ask us to have a person review an automated action by emailing [email protected].

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share data with:

• Other users — your public profile (name, avatar, city, game profiles).
• Google — if you use Google Sign-In (governed by Google's Privacy Policy).
• Push service providers — browser push delivery endpoints (FCM, APNs).
• Device location services (e.g. Google Play Services) — to resolve your approximate location into a city, only if you use that feature.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

• In-app — go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
• By email — contact us at [email protected] and we will process your request within 30 days.

Push notification tokens are deleted automatically when you unsubscribe or when they expire.

Under GDPR you have the right to: access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise any right.
